Barbary BJJ was founded in 2012 by David Chastell.
A lifelong Martial Artist David is a Black Belt in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gaining his Black Belt in BJJ
under 2 x European Champion Gary Savage (Mario Sukata Lineage) in 2022.
About your Coach
David has also trained in Judo since the age of 14 gaining his Black Belt from Brian Cheek (10th Dan) in 2006 this grade has been ratified by the following organisations:
All England Judo Federation (AEJF)
International Budo Council (IBC)
International Budo Federation (IBF)
British Judo Association (BJA)
David has competed continuously in Judo, captaining the Hertfordshire Judo Squad for a short period as well as winning the All England Judo Nationals a record 10 times.
